LIONEL PREWAR 2810 OPERATING CRANE WITH RARE DEEP POCKETS
For auction is a Lionel No. 2810 deep pocket operating Crane Car.
It is believed that the deep pocket cranes were manufactured in late 1941 possibly into early 1942.
It comes with the correct operating couplers at both ends and black journal boxes.
Also, unique to this crane is the small diameter wheel for rotation the cab, and the correct lifting hook without the ball
The crane is complete and is in good plus condition.
The crane retains its original paint. (no restoration) There is paint loss on the cranes metal surfaces, so see photos.
The cab rotates the boom raising and hook functions all work.
It appears that it has the original string on the hook.
Auto couplers were NOT TESTED.
Note: Deep pockets refers to the depressions in the frame for mount the trucks to the frame.
The crane needs a good cleaning and lubrication. NO BOX!
Most collectors do not know that this rare variation of the 2810 crane was made.
